Aesthetics In Motion

I’ve lived in a rich variety of places from Kansas to Vienna to Texas to Seattle… always seeking a workspace, always absorbing inspiration from my locales. Over time I’ve incorporated my wanderlust of body and spirit into my work, which has evolved beyond realism in painting to become layers of energy in motion, conveying memories real and imagined.

Acrylics and Other Media

Creating a work of art, for me, is a passionate activity, filled with inner emotions and expressed energetically via my tools, materials, and processes that would require several pages of text to reveal fully. My paintings are an inner collaboration of forces within driving my choice of substrates and media; including acrylic paint and red, white, or black gesso along with a wide variety of other materials, many of which are not typically found on two dimensional art.

The Simplicity of Complexity

Working as I do, blending opposites, I create dynamic art that hides complexity in a cloak of simplicity. By harmonizing the elements of my works each is read with an appearance of simplicity when first approached. Yet as one considers them longer their complexity reveals itself. Layer upon layer unfolds the longer one tarries, seeking the unities that flow through all of my work.
